SEA-TVET Workshop on Hospitality, Health Care (Nursing), and Creative Industry was held to discuss on curriculum harmonisation in Indonesia on 11-13 October 2016

The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Republic of Indonesia organised a SEA-TVET Workshop on Hospitality, Creative Industry and Health Care from 11 to 13 October 2016 at the Hotel Horison Bekasi, Indonesia. The workshop was held under the theme “Strengthening Student Skills and Competencies on Hospitality, Creative Industry and Health Care in Indonesia and Southeast Asia”.

The workshop aimed to 1) discuss on curriculum and skills development in the area of Hospitality (Tourism), Health Care (Nursing) and Creative Industry among TVET Institutions in Southeast Asia; 2) explore collaboration among TVET Institutions from Indonesian and other countries in Southeast Asia, and 3) promote qualified skilled-labours in Hospitality (Tourism), Creative Industry, and Health Care (Nursing) in Southeast Asia. The workshop was participated by approximately 210 participants who are policy makers and representatives from TVET schools and colleges in Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.


At the end of the programme, the recommendations and action plans for promoting curriculum harmonisation/improvement for Hospitality (Tourism), Nursing, and Creative Industry were recommended. Besides, a total of 79 bilateral partnership agreements were developed between the TVET institutions.
