SEA-TVET Workshop for Curriculum Harmonisation and Internship: Indonesia-Thailand Collaboration was held at Phetchaburi Vocational College on 21-22 March 2017

The Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) in collaboration with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization organised a SEA-TVET Workshop on Indonesia-Thailand Collaboration on 21-22 March 2017 at the Phetchaburi Vocational College, Phetchaburi Province, Thailand.

The event aimed to 1) identify models, constraints and solutions for implementing the cross-country diploma programme with industries between Thailand and Indonesia; 2) discuss the curriculum harmonisation of TVET Diploma programmes between Indonesia and Thailand; 3)identify strategies and mechanism to improve student exchange and internship between Thailand and Indonesia; 4) discuss the strategies and mechanism for Indonesia Language Teacher Placement; 5) update the information of the SEA-TVET Consortium Website; 6) discuss the 3 year plan of TVET collaboration between OVEC and SEAMEO during 2017-2020.

The workshop included discussions that focused on 3 programmes, namely the Cross-country diploma program with Industry, the Indonesian Language Programme for Foreign Speaker (BIPA) in Southeast Asia Countries through SEAMEO Networks and the Young SEA-TVET “Future Farmer” Programme. It was attended by approximately 16 participants, made up of the directors, deputy directors, head of co-operations and representatives from TVET schools and colleges in Thailand. At the end of the programme, the mechanisms and strategies to implement the Cross-country diploma programme, the solutions to implement BIPA programme, the agreed timeline to implement the programme and recommendations to organize the Young SEA-TVET future farmerswere put forward.
